North Quincy MA is as close to Boston as you can get without crossing the Neponset River. It borders some of Quincy’s best neighborhoods, Squantum and Wollaston. The areas inside North Quincy are referred to as Atlantic, which is another term for North Quincy, and Norfolk Downs. North Quincy is best known for its travel conveniences. The Red Line T stop provides a safe and easy way to get around the heart of Boston. Running through this area is route 3a which has easy access to route 93 and straight through or away from Boston. Those who dislike the small commute could find employment is one of the large scale office businesses clustered near the river. Residents of this neighborhood enjoy the pleasure of always having an easy walk to the northern half of Wollaston Beach. Wollaston Beach shows grand views of the city skyline and harbors delicious seafood restaurants. If you prefer green, on the other side of North Quincy is President’s Golf Course. A variety of parks and playgrounds dotted through the blocks provide a safe way for families to play outdoors.

North Quincy may not be as old as the rest of the town, but it still holds an interesting origin. This area was not built up until the early 1800’s when the Jockey Club of Boston opened a new horse racing track. “Billings Plains” provided great conditions for the track as well as being parade grounds for the local militia. Later, the flat terrain for this neighborhood was discovered perfect as a residential area for single family homes. Recently, in the 1970’s the Red Line Subway station was built to provide rapid transportation right to the State Street Bank complex. This brought about a boom in interest in living in the Quincy Area. Most notably now you can identify an Asian flare around the commercial district.
